I strongly believe in positive reinforcement in my classroom and WOW Tags are one method that we will use this year to encourage positive choices and hard work. Pretty soon, your child will be coming home telling you all about the WOW Tag he/she earned at school!
What is a WOW Tag? WOW Tags are a classroom incentive system that is used to encourage, promote, and celebrate positive behavior. They are incentive tags that your child can earn by displaying positive behavior and choices throughout the day. WOW Tags are an exciting way for children to show off their good choices!
How is a WOW Tag earned? They can earn WOW Tags for lots of reasons. Some of these include: following our school-wide Take 5 Expectations (Be There, Be Ready; Be Responsible; Be Respectful; Follow Directions; Keep Personal Space), following directions the first time, helping a classmate, learning all of their sight words, and so many more! WOW Tags are earned when I notice a choice or behavior that exceeds expectations. WOW Tags are also earned when meeting academic goals.
How are the WOW Tags displayed? Each child will have their own personal ring to hold their WOW Tags. These rings will be displayed on a bulletin board. I encourage you to look at your child’s WOW Tags during Parent/Teacher Conferences!
When do the WOW Tags come home? Your child is more than welcome to take home their WOW Tag at the end of the year to keep!
