NO TOYS FROM HOME!! Many children have been bringing in toys from home and it's been causing a major disturbance to our learning. The children become distracted by the toys and it inhibits learning. Please do not allow your child to bring in any toys from home, other than one stuffed animal for nap time. If your child brings in a toy from home (other than a napping item), I will take it and keep it until the end of the day. Please rest assured that I have many toys in our classroom for the children to play with during recess. Thank you for your understanding and support!
Nut-Aware
We are a nut-aware school. This means that we strongly recommend that children do NOT bring a lunch or snack that contains nuts. Please see your Parent/Student Handbook for clarification of this policy.
Snack Time
We will be eating snack every afternoon, from approximately 2:00-2:10. Please send a healthy snack to school with your child daily. Suggestions include goldfish crackers, graham crackers, pretzels, raisins, dried fruit, granola bars, a packaged cup of applesauce, fruit cups, and clementines. These are just a few suggestions of delicious, healthy options; there's so many more! Please also send in a water bottle. If you send in a water bottle, please choose one with a lid that reduces/eliminates spilling if knocked over.
Always remember, we are a nut-aware building. That means that we strongly recommend that you do NOT send in food containing peanuts and tree nuts (which includes almonds, Brazil nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pistachios, pecans, and cashews). While we are aware that nuts make a popular snack, the health and safety of every child is our number one concern. As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you for your understanding!
