Dear Parents and Families,
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Alana Andreyko. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education and the corresponding teaching certificate from Kutztown University in 2010. After graduating, I was the lead teacher of an older toddler classroom at a childcare center in Bethlehem for five years. While there, I graduated from Northampton Community College in 2015 with my Director's Credential. Just this past summer, I earned my Master's in Early Childhood Literacy from Wilkes University. I joined the Arts Academy Elementary Charter School team at its inception in 2015. This is my fifth year teaching kindergarten at AAECS. My husband, Mike, and I live in Hampton, NJ with our Shih Tzu, Lilianna, and our Morkie, Chloe. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, singing, swimming, hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends. My husband and I are members of a community theater group called CAST (Clinton Area Stage Troupe). CAST performs phenomenal musicals every summer. I am so excited to welcome your child into the classroom and begin learning about their unique talents. I'm looking forward to working hand-in-hand with you as your child begins their educational and artistic journey. One of my first goals is for your child to consider their kindergarten classroom their home away from home. To accomplish this, I need your help! Cooperation and communication between home and school are the keys to a successful educational experience. Some helpful hints for families include: •Encourage your child to share the events of the day. •Be consistent in discipline. •Give your child responsibilities (making the bed, setting the table). •Ask about your child’s work and display it at home. •Discuss traffic signals, safety and reinforce bus safety rules with your child. •Read aloud to your child daily. •Take an active part in your child’s education. Join our school’s parent organization. Stay in touch! Active communication goes a long way to helping your child succeed! •Support your child through unconditional love, security and acceptance. |
